The original Back's Delicatessen was a famous Brooklyn establishment, run by the great grandfather of the present owner, in 1920s New York. The site of the current deli has been a food emporium for over the last 50 years.
The current owners of Back's, husband and wife team Andy & Karen, felt that their Heaton Moor premises and location truly reflected the traditions of Back's. With a modern interior, mixed with eclectic period pieces, Back's is a real experience to be savoured.
Andy and Karen have extensive experience within the food industry. Karen has worked in a variety of restaurant serving and management positions, while Andy is both a chef and chef lecturer, with his first business many years ago being a sandwich round on a pushbike around Didsbury.
The new delicatessen borrows the values of the past and combines them with the wealth of amazing food produce available and skills of a highly creative culinary team. Back's prides itself on its friendly but professional approach and on its flexibility - after all, every client has different needs and requirements!
